This module is in the process of being merged back with imagefield.

If you want to help, do follow and contribute to the development of filefield and imagefield, those are supposed to cover all of the functionality of this module. If they don't, please help the maintainers (dopry and drewish) to make those modules better. You can also try to help out with Barry Jaspan's (et al.) "Fields in core" undertaking which will help to merge filefield functionality into Drupal core. Anyways, do not grieve for this module even though it rocked :)
