The pixture studio themes 'pixture' and 'twilight' are two beautiful themes. However the originator hasn't posted responses to issues in months; doesn't seem to be posting on the pixture studio website; and hasn't responded to my efforts to contact them. Is there any chance that someone who knows their stuff re theming in drupal can step in and help with these themes?
Frankly I think pixture (the user) has made a major contribution to drupal by submitting these find themes. I've always like drupal over joomla, but joomla offers so many more themes, modern looking themes, it's been hard to commit to drupal. The pixture and twilight themes are brilliant and I hope pixture comes back and adds more to the set. But minimally I hope someone else can help with the issues that are dogging the pixture studio themes?

I've contacted the maintainer about this. Usually it takes up to six months before a theme can be passed on to someone else if the maintainer is inactive, so just hang tight for a little while longer.

Can a theme have two maintainers? In the scenario you posit something like 3 months would have to pass before someone else can contribute? That's a really long time, if it's the theme you want. Can someone who 'cares' about the theme start updating it? I don't have the skill level, or the time to pick up those skills.

If the maintainer is no longer interested in the project then I can't see it couldn't be adopted much sooner, a month of no response would tend to indicate the project is abandoned (unless they are on holiday or something, it is Summer in the northern hemisphere right now).

OK, thanks. I certainly wouldn't want to step on pixtures toes. In fact I'd really like it if Pixture would do more themes for drupal.
Will something happen in a month if Pixture does not get back into gear? I mean is anyone watching? I'll be able to provide a reminder via this thread if nothing better.

I think pixture has made a tremendous contribution in his short time here, perhaps he wasn't quite ready for the deluge of support requests, perhaps I could look at stepping in to clear the issue queue regarding basic question about the theme/s, although I am not totally down with colourised themes.
I am actually using Pixture on a e-commerce site I set up recently so perhaps I can give something back and help out here. So rather than us jumping in to take over, lets step in and support pixture with his contributions.

I spoke to Hide (pixture) about the whole situation, basically he's too busy and feels pretty bad about it. He'll be back later in the year when he has more time.
He has also asked me and one other if we would take over as co-maintainers which I have duly accepted, just awaiting Hide to set it up. First thing will be to give the themes a code clean up to get them up to Drupal coding standards and then support eigentor with the CSS layout version.

That's incredible news! Thank you.
Hideki (pixture) shouldn't feel bad about anything. He's really talented and I hope things go well for him. I also hope that he does have time to create a few more themes for drupal, eventually.

That's great news! I use the Pixture them on my website and I would love to see some bugs addressed. Either way, Hide shouldn't feel bad about anything, they left us with these awesome themes...

Yes, exactly, and he's a dam nice guy to boot.
We're working on those bugs, frankly I've been so flat out with my other projects so things have been a bit on the back burner. We still address all posted issues but haven't worked on the really long term and tricky ones, yet.

Vivada, not sure if you're aware of it but the Pixture theme has been 'forked'; the newer version of Pixture is called Pixture Reloaded. It's a great improvement over the original Pixture, which was already very good.
Ah! Excellent! Thanks Pengi,
