This error seams to occur if there are no files to synchronize. The patch attached solved this for me. If casting to an empty array is not that efficient, it would be great if you let me know - i do it all the time ;)

(BTW: This is the first patch file i ever wrote and i did not know, what to put in the header of the file.)

Yes, but that's not a reason to change the issue's version, which is the one the patch is for.

Also experimental modules won't be supported anymore so consider upgrading to 6.x.
