I'm assuming this relates to this page in the handbook: http://drupal.org/node/150215 and the others in the Schema API section.

I think the criticism is that according to http://api.drupal.org/api/function/hook_update_N/6 the N is supposed to be something like 6001 rather than a number like 1, but the examples have numbers like 1, 2, and 3.

I have fixed all of these pages to reflect the correct numbering system in the examples.
