Followed Deployment setup guide yet both a content type push and view push both fail with no error log message or watchdog

On Drupal 5.9 latest services as guide says ( I think, I tried with cvs, I ran cvs -d ":pserver:anonymous:anonymous@cvs.drupal.org:/cvs/drupal-contrib" checkout -r DRUPAL-5 contributions/modules/services and then tested again using services-5.x-1.x-dev )
I Followed the documentation on set up then separately attempted a push of both content type and view, which both separately failed. My deployment error message is blank for both and the watchdogs on both sites are blank. Not sure how to get more debug info.
