Is there a way to control how lists of forum containers are displayed (collapse to a list of root containers)?

I am a newb. :o)

My forum "homepage" displays all container levels plus the forums in them.

I have 4 containers at root level.
Each root container has 5 containers.
These containers have the forums

Is there a way to keep the root containers collapsed on the forum "homepage"?
I cant seem to find a way.
