Could you port the widget Active Select to Drupal 6?
A fully working Active Select module has been port to Drupal 6 by Hwangar.
I can provide testing for the widget Content Taxonomy ActiveSelect 6.x.

that0n3guy commentedI will second this Task request. I use this widget quite a bit on my site.

mh86 commentedI'm not planing to do the Active Select integration. In D5 it always was making problems.
I rather prefer having the Hierarchical Select cleanly integrated.
that0n3guy commentedI never got Hierarchical select to do quite the same thing as active select.
For example (vehicle make and model):
If I selected a vehicles make, then the model. I could then make a 'table view' and have a table with both 'Make' and 'Model' columns.
With HS, if I choose the make then the model... it would only store the farthest down selection (the model). I couldn't make a table view with both make and model as columns... only model.
I don't know if this has changed, but if it hasn't, than the Active select widget is defiantly needed.

henrijs.seso commentedWeeeelll.... Thats really cool, installed it and it works... kinda. But i cannot tell if it works correctly, because I have no idea of how it is SUPPOSED to work. Any screenshots or demo? I just get select list, thats it - no hierarchies, no loading of second level, noting, nada.

that0n3guy commentedEDIT: I just realized that I have been using the activmulti module the whole time (found here http://drupal.org/node/180687 ) NOT active select... so this example is not right..... boy to I feel foolish. I completely forgot I was using that.
THE BELOW EXAMPLE IS FROM D5 AND THE ACTIVMULTI MODULE
Mansspams,
For an example of how it works in drupal 5, create an account at my site http://aquauto.com and create a "vehicle". I have taxonomy terms for Make and model like:
Vocabulary: Makes and Models of Vehicles
-Ford
--Escape
--Escort
-Toyota
--etc...
In the form for creating a vehicle you can choose a Make term, then in the next select box select the model
Its pretty slick.. (although it does show doubles for everything... doesnt seem to effect anything though.)

henrijs.seso commentedIn this case D6 port does NOT work. All I get is one drop down menu, no second levels... Anyone managed to get ActiveSelect working on D6?Comment #8
that0n3guy commentedI agree, all I get is one drop down also.
Its acting like its not referencing the activeselect module correctly (my guess).
wim leers@that0n3guy:
Enable the "save lineage" setting and you'll be good to go: it'll filter on *every* selected term.

francewhoa@toitimhcm: The file in your comment #4 can be downloaded but it appear to be empty. There's nothing inside the archive. Could you investigate?
File attached below. You must extract this .zip file. Then extract the archive inside it. I had to zip the file because other format can't be upload to drupal.org.
