Synchronize with account doesn’t seem to be working for me. I have it checked but confirmed subscribers don’t appear as users. Am I misunderstanding how this works. Also, upon confirming a subscription or deleting newsletter content you are redirect to the site home page. Is there an option for control where users are directed? I can’t seem to find that option.

Synchonisation is fixed. See #297041: When synchronized deleting user does not remove subscription
Redirection can be changed using code in a separate (mini) module.
