i tried to make one photo to display in an area. but because of three photos in the same folder, so that the three photos displayed randomly. so i wanna know how to specify one photo to display in one area.
I use the following tag and hope the third photo to display. but the three photos always displayed randomly.
[bg|photosfolder|1|200|sort|1|#bbbbbb|3|What an image!]

please help me out here, thanks in advance.

Full tag syntax (for placing galleries in enabled content types): [bg|path/to/your/gallery/folder/without/wrapping/slashes |columncountoverride|widthoverride|sortorrandomoverride|maximumnumbertoshow|colouroverride|beginfromoverride|caption-yes-no-text]

so IMHO you did it correctly. You should only see a single picture, and it should always be the third one in the folder. I myself am running 6.4 and the syntax is correct...

I know this syntax. And it works well on my site. but i wanna to display a single photo in one specified folder.
And now there are three photos in the same folder [bg|xxx_folder]. so i use above syntax, but the photos always to displayed randomly. I wanna the third photo to display, please give me the syntax, thanks.

Please read my above post - I repeat: you did it correctly [...] the syntax is correct.
There's no apparent reason why your photos are displayed randomly using the syntax you described, maybe you found a bug...?

I donot think so, i can not make sure i did corretly.
Yes, i read your post above. because there are three photos in the same folder, so i used that above syntax in D6.4 and with brilliant gallery v1.2, the photo always displays randomly.
For example, the first time, the first photo displayed in the area, but next time maybe the second photo or the third one will be displayed in the area. so i do not know why,
[bg|photosfolder|1|200|sort|1|#bbbbbb|3|What an image!]

I used the syntax, and "photosfolder" is the folder 's name, and i hope the third photo to display, and just one photo to display. that i hope display.
the syntax there are two "1" number, what's meaning of the first "1"? and wether i have to use the caption of the third photo to be instead of the "what an image!" sentence of the syntax. thanks again.

photosfolder| well, the folder name your pictures are in
1| columncountoverride
200| widthoverride
sort| sort or random override
1| maximum number of images to display
#bbbbbb| color override
3| begin from image number 3 override
What an image!] Caption to display in overlay browser.

I tell you once again that you got the correct syntax. Really.

that is my site, but the pictures won't display well.
there are eight pictures in the folder, i used the above syntax to display them in the different comments, but the result is not right.
maybe it is bug??

it is not a new issue, it is about the syntax how to use it, why i used the same syntax but it could not display like the standard description, why it did not work well like the effect of this syntax [bg|photosfolder|1|200|sort|1|#bbbbbb|3|What an image!]

Sorry, I can't help you because I don't understand what you're trying to do or say.
1) Your syntax is right
2) The pictures ARE displayed on http://www.songyun.org/node/146#comment-39 (although they are quite small), which
3) leads to the conclusion that BG is working correctly.

Please re-read #1, I just can't say anything more than that...
Maybe someone else can help you, I'm giving up...

Yeah, the pictures are displayed in the comments, it works, but note that one picture is displayed repeatedly in the different areas.
I hope use above symtax to display one picture into its own comments' area. never display in other comments area.
