Asking permission to "alaa" (hope you agree, alaa), i am opening this issue to discuss the difference in the file discussed under http://drupal.org/node/202992 for a new Arabic language translation pack made by saeedahmeds (this is the file) producing a bit of confusion.
Have noticed that same words are written in different places with different translations!
For ex. the word "Navigation" is it "مسار", "ملاحة" or "إبحار" ?
- "modules/menu/menu.module:21" is "مسار"
- "modules/menu/menu.install:12; modules/user/user.module:685,735" is "الإبحار"
and more places…
Also more words…
This will be a bit confusing, saeedahmeds. Hope you post an explanation.
As far as i am navigating the translated files made by you (saeedahmeds, of course a thank you for your work, i know that it took you a lot of time), i encounter confusions like:
-navigation menu = قائمة تصفح الموقع (as originally been translated by alaa, great job btw)
-navigation menu = مسار القائمة (made by saeedahmeds, why?! i thought Path=مسار)
Any body encounterd other words, or should i post more?
Thank you.

good_man commentedعلى حسب الكلمات الشائعة:
navigation menu: قائمة التصفح
وليس قائمة تصفح الموقع أي بدون كلمة موقع

errement commented@good_man,
Ramadan karim. Thanq for responding, but i think we should speak general english (pls) and make examples with english/arabic, what do you say? ;-) as we are in drupal.org site, not the drupal arab community site —if there is any, i don't know?— (hope some day we have drupal.org.arabic_source)
When i read your post, i start googling and i encountered this http://www.eglug.org/drupal_glossary
The same alaa said: "قائمة التصفح" or "قائمة التصفح الرئيسية" on that link giving information about Terminology and basic concepts.
So why on his translation is giving "قائمة تصفح الموقع" ?
I don't know, but maybe i should review all translation files, from alaa and/or saeedahmeds and try to get a better ones for arabic sites i make.
I'll investigate.

good_man commentedas you want ;-) you are right in this point
I'm going to review them, but maybe after a week because I'm so busy these days ... and make sure that the translation is somehow standard from Arabeyes:
http://wiki.arabeyes.org
they are really making a good dictionary ...
hope to see Alaa and Saeed here!

errement commentedI am changing title to "Confusions on general translated words" instead of "Confusions on general translated words, not made by project owner "alaa"" because i'm having more confusions. Also "support request" to "task".
Now i am with the word: Administer
It should not be considered as يدير but as أدر as under Navigation menu block, what do you think?
Keep investigating!
I attach a screenshot with words.
P.S.: What do you think alaa? Hope you don't get mad, i just try to help. Maybe you don't want me to interfere with the translation and just make corrections for my database —which i am sure will—. You decide.

good_man commentedmaybe Alaa is not here you should contact him directly (maybe sending him an email)! keep that work up dude

alaa commentedsorry folks it seems drupal.org changed the way issues work and I stopped receiving email alerts of new issues months ago.
thanx saeedahmeds for your effort, although I must say the translations are of extremely poor quality (and plain broken in many cases).
but since things have been very stagnant for half a year (all the previous translators are yet to actually use drupal 6) I decided to merge saeedahmeds translations anyway and would appreciate any help reviewing them.
obviously we should strive for a unified terminology, the eglug wiki page linked to here is very old many things have changed since then, I've extracted the most common keywords in drupal here http://translate.arabtechies.net/ar/terminology/drupal/ if we get all of those translated it'll make reviewing conflicts much easier.
