Related Content - Is no one doing this?

saltcod - September 8, 2008 - 17:04

I've seen lots of posts about this, but nothing addressing the real issue.

Can I create a sidebar block that pulls related content from all my other posts?

http://harvardscience.harvard.edu/foundations/articles/amy-wagers-focusi...

HarvardScience does this perfectly with every article.

I've seen piles of modules that does this by Taxonomy term, and I've used the Similar entries module, but I'm wondering if this can be done via views.

Help appreciated.

Not sure if this will work

Not sure if this will work for 6.x, but the solution here is to use the CCK nodereference function for a sidebar block:

What issue exactly - seems

What issue exactly - seems like a general cry for help and I appreciate your position, but its better to ask a very specific question, rather than being so generalised.

Theres a tonne of info on how to do this using Views (contextual views) and other methods as well.

I would say the http://drupal.org/project/relatedcontent module has not been updated because Views 2 is not yet in stable release (you could always ask).

Thanks for the reply - I

Thanks for the reply - I suppose you're right, that was a cry for help!

At the simplest level, I want to do what HarvardScience does with their articles:

IE: If you're reading an article on Ecology, I want to pull related content from an Ecology section.

I can't figure out how to do this with views, and was wondering if: either I wasn't getting it, OR if it was impossible.

Input welcome!

Thanks

Similarterms module might do

another option: http://drupal.org/project/pivots (though it hasn't been upgraded for d6 yet)
