Is there any way to record a vote of Zero?

quicksketchNo, there is not. However, this is not unexpected behavior, as there is no way you can save a vote of 0 on Amazon, iTunes Store, NewEgg, etc.

quicksketchFivestar can't support this, as VotingAPI (the data storage mechanism) does not support this. I've never seen a five-star rating widget on the entire internet that presents a "non-vote". It's simply not the intended purpose of such a system. It's a personal posting of how that user feels about a piece of content.

stevenpatzHave you seen http://www.kuro5hin.org/ or any Scoop based CMS? They allow 0 based ratings.

And if the user doesn not want to vote, he does not want to vote.
