Just installed the latest 5.x stable release on Drupal 5.9, and I'm not seeing the "Write to Author" link on the content.

I did go into the Content Types and checked the boxes so the link would show on all modes of the content and on comments, but it's still not showing up. Tried multiple themes, still nothing.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same issues, using the same versions of Drupal & Private message as you are. I've been trying all kinds of things and can't get it to show up.

I have exactly the same problem.
I am using Drupal 5.10 and Privatemsg 5.x-3.0
I am using the garland theme.
Any ideas?

any luck on this? I am using a fresh install to test and the link write to author is not showing.

this one worked for me. I tried applying this patch and it worked.
