Date Timezone won't save timezone

It sounds like you have the Event module enabled. There is a known conflict with the Event module and an issue on the Event module issue queue with a patch to fix it, but it hasn't been fixed So for now you can't use them together.

If you don't have Event enabled and this is the wrong assessment, you can reopen

For those having this problem it seems to be fixed in Date 6.x-2.x-dev.

i am facing same problem, but in version 5.x-2.3. i upgrade my drupal site to 5.12.
The Date Timezone module requires you to set the site timezone name. is this message i got continues. i am not using Event Module. when i try to admin section of Date of time i got error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function date_timezone_names() in .....\sites\all\modules\date\date_timezone\date_timezone.module on line 60

so when i go there i found
'#options' => date_timezone_names(), i just commented it. then i able to enter into admin section but problem is still remain. but also Default time zone drop down box is showing nothing.
is there any way to HARD CODE define default time zone? please help me

Don't hyjack closed issues and then change the version, the D5 and D6 versions have different code.

If you're getting a message about 'undefined function date_timezone_names' you need the Date PHP4 module installed because you don't have native timezone handling available. Without that, you will not be able to do anything with timezones.

I have the same issue, i.e. timezone is not saved when selecting any value. Date v 6.x-2.3, PHP 5.2.10 . I do not have Event module installed. Please let me know what information you might need to debug this in addition to the following:

I have not seen this.
No activity for over a year.
I am closing this out.

Please open an new issue and provide steps on how to reproduce the error if yo encounter this.

I am seeing this issue in 6.x-2.7.. investigating potential relation to Domain Access site configuration module.

I am getting the same error after installing Domain Access.
