Assuming you installing Drupal for the first time - those are normal steps for installing Drupal 6.

This is my first time using drupal. I'm following along in this Building powerful and robust websites with drupal 6. I'm using my own at home computer. When I get to the choose language screen it takes me to the create a settings file as part of the installation process. It doesn't tell me how to get around this and I'm using the apachetriad 1.5.4
