Please consider incorporating Album Description & Picture Caption display into core for this module. I think this is one of the best / easiest galleries Drupal has to offer, except the above changes.

Here is my attempt to make a change. I can supply a .patch to the gallarix module if you choose.

Not too sure whether this was done or not, but there is support for captions now.
