ThePickwickProject commentedI'm not sure this is a bug. You can choose your display here:
1. admin/settings/i18n/main
2. Choose: All content. No language conditions apply
By choosing this setting, all content is shown when doing a search, whatever the language of the content is.
Update: the "All content. No language conditions apply" helps to show all content in a multilingual site. However, it shows all terms in all languages when creating a content type. So it's not an ideal solution either.

ThePickwickProject commentedI just performed some additional testing and believe that there's a conflict between entering data and displaying data when you want to show search results for content in all languages.
1. Displaying data: To display search results in all languages, one needs to select "All content. No language conditions apply"
2. Entering data: to only see taxonomy terms in the current language, one needs to select "Current language only". There's no need to see all terms in all languages. This unfortunaty conflicts with 1.
Case: this is not a theoretic case. Think of a classifieds site in e bilingual country. Users should be able to see all content, but attributes (taxonomy terms) should only be visible in their own language when creating a listing.

podarokwhen " Choose: All content. No language conditions apply"
All languages displayed in main node feed but it is a real problem cause when You make translations of existing articles - users get all content and it is wrong! So search options and display options have to be different

jvieille commentedSubscribe: it is very necessary to be able to find content in different languages than the current one.
That should be an advanced seach option where a selector should allow "current language" (the default behaviour as today) or "all available languages"

(Which I know is not exactly the same, but we need to handle all this together)
