Some (not all) of my albums are now claiming "This album is empty" after I updated to Drupal 5.11 tonight.

The album isn't really empty, since everything shows if I look at it in "Album contents" mode.

This is a new issue and I haven't seen any reports of it anywhere.

Oops, found the problem, had nothing to do with core or acidfree.
