Hide "shared posts" in profile when there are no shared posts

When coherent access is installed, all user profiles show the tab "shared posts", even though the users may not have any. Would it be possible to hide this if the user has no shared posts? Or, if it is not possible, could there be a switch for the admin to turn this tab off for all users? We use coherent access only for a few select users on our site and the majority will never see this.
