User number settings scrambled after upgrade from Drupal 5.x to Drupal 6

A couple of week ago, I upgraded a site using Drupal 5.x with IMCE installed to using Drupal 6.6 and IMCE 6.x-1.1 After doing that, I found the user numbers IMCE was trying to use have gotten scrambled up somehow. For example, I am set as user #2 on the site, which should mean that my created directory by IMCE starts with 'u2' and any created directories would be below that. Well, now it is insisting I am user #17 and my directory is empty! I have checked, the 'u2' directory is still where it should be AND those image files previously uploaded (before the Drupal 6 upgrade) are all still there and displaying as they should inside nodes. But, where and how should I fix this so IMCE knows which directory belongs to the different users!?!? Thanks!
