I am shopping around to find an upper level web host with specialization in Drupal and good support. Any suggestions?

Try Rackspace or Rimu hosting. Not specialised Drupal hosts but they don't need to be, they're the best in the business regardless... several so called "Drupal hosts" I have experienced over the past year turned out to be lemons...

Hi, jmburnz, thank you for your suggestion. As I said, I would like to have a web host with dedicated support to Drupal so that problems can be fixed quickly when emergent support is needed.

I've got Drupal 6.6 running on Mosso and it's running well. I guess it all depends on what you need in terms of support - Drupal Acquia offers support packages dedicated to Drupal, but to find a host that will directly support it may be hard. Don't bother with Media Temple BTW. If they didn't create it, they won't support it - period. On the other hand, Mosso has been very helpful, even when the question has been about the app itself and not a server-based issue. I've got several sites running there and I've been very happy. They're a subsidiary of Rackspace BTW.

Yes. I totally agree that Drupal websites can be run at most of web hosts. Ideally, I hope that whenever the Drupal website has problem that I cannot fix by myself, it can be fixed by the web host support team in a timely manner. I also the web host can keep updating Drupal version from one to one. Otherwise, it can be a headache thing to do this by myself. That is why I weight Drupal support from web host so much.

I think you have a very long search on your hands looking for a reliable webhost who offers application support, like I say, Bryght is the only one I know of, and I believe the only one around.

The hosting company will only be able to help you resolve the installation issue, and for the thing other than that, you cannot get from the hosting company, you should seek for help from Drupal design company

Chop Hosting will sort you out, first of all they are cheap!!! second of all they have the tools to get your DRUPAL site up and ruining in minutes!! All you have to do is purchase a web hosting account then you go to your control panel and install DRUPAL. The installation process is similar to when you installing any windows application on your PC, simple!

We are using APT Host's cheapest managed VPS plan (they are listed on Drupal: http://drupal.org/hosting). Our site was running a little slow possibly because we have installed a long list of modules and have all of them running at the same time. We were contacting APT almost everyday for about 2-3 weeks trying to somehow get them solve the problem for us while we keep all the modules as they are.

Their staff have been very helpful EACH TIME we contacted them. They definitely have tried everything they possibly could to make us happy. One of their staff actually spent half a weekend working specifically on our VPS trying to speed up our site. I am not going to tell you what they did for us but it was definitely a bonus for what we are paying for ($39.95/month plus a discount because we signed up for 3 months for trial) .
