i am trying to set up a social community something like myspace, you tube and writerscafe.org combined...however i cannot seem to find a way to do several things..
I read a forum post about setting up a myspace style site on here....http://drupal.org/node/138069
however i could not find the modules anywhere...they are not in the latest version of drupal..
also i am not sure how to download and install the submitted modules on this site to mysite and how to get them to work.
I am very new at this and drupal seems to have everything i want to do or the abilities to do so but it is very cumbersome to figuring things out for development..
For example i cannot figure out how to customize the look and feel colors images etc of my site to begin with.
so i am very new....i want to create a social network, but how do i get started.....give me a step by step to get me well on my way so i can get the ball rolling if you would and thank you

LOL-- all that hard work deserves recognition! Besides, do you have any idea how much time it saves me from having to type that same info over and over and over again??? ;-)
That's got to be the #1 question i see in the forums: "hi, im a n00bie and i dont know much about drupal, php, or sql-- how can i build facebook?"
I would have stopped answering those questions long ago if i couldn't just point people to your site, lol.
