Hi,
I would like to know if there's any way to get rid of useless "subject" in comments? With comments under post is pretty clear that "comment subject" is post above and there's not one single reason for aditional comment subject/title spam line. As example, if there's like 50 short expanded view comments which commening my post, who under this sun would need also 50 subjects here?
I understand that in case of collapsed view comments subject might be needed, but in for most people more useful expanded view it's rather annoying.

With enforced subject near every comment things often looks like that:

Subject: I agree with you
Comment: I agree with you

Subject: Hey, tell us
Comment: Hey tell us everything.

Subject: I completelly disagree
Comment: I completelly disagree with post above

It would be great to have option to disable subject in comments. Subject of most comments is post itself.

You can get ride of comment's subject editing the template files of your theme
but certainly there can be better choices
I agree with you that having expanded comments with subject might look overloaded, but there is one thing you are missing, the comment's subjects are links (or permalinks) to specific comments which users can use to point directly to what the would like to refer.
So maybe you might like to keep comment's subjects but with a different behavior than the first word of the comment's body, if so checkout the comment_subject module
Of course, you would say that doesn't meet your needs, but checkout the following feature request Integration with token and don't hesitate adding your comment there to encourage the development of such feature. This issue was the one chosen by the maintainer to comply this other feature request Support for other kind of default subjects

Finally if you do want to get ride of the comment's subject in other fashion than through theme, take into account that you would have to do it for each theme you use.
So I recommend you to try some alternative through modules, in which case the above links might lead you

I'm willing to implement this feature into comment_subject module IF it gets more community votes at #582464: dropdown list of predefined (fixed) subjects
