Blank role assigned when user doesn't specify a role

Hello there,

Problem:
If the user doesn't select a role during signup, a blank role shows up under User management -> User. Just a blank li dot.

To reproduce, create a couple of roles, enable user role selection and not require it. Create a new account without selecting a role. Go to User management -> Users and see the extra blank role.

Any ideas?

If I edit the user and save the settings, it disappears.
