In the upcoming events block the new one repeating dates are not displaying for me. This appears to be a reversion to the previous issue with this not working that was fixed up until the last rc for me.

Before the upcoming events block existed. I had view set up that listed upcoming events. This worked perfectly until the current rc was rolled. When it rolled the repeating events dates stopped showing. very similar to what had occurred earlier to repeating events.

I thought. Since you had added a upcoming events block. Why not use the upcoming events block that exists in calendar. I get the same issue with it that I do with mine repeating events are not displaying correctly. The first one shows the date none of the others do so.

Data the block displays:

When:

Having the same issue as described above. Part of the problem for me was the date filter for the upcoming block was set to 'node: updated date' rather than 'content: date field'. When I made this change, however, all of the date values in the block disappeared. The date field seems to display correctly for non-repeating dates. However, for repeating dates in the upcoming block the only field displayed is the node title.

Just noticed this is also a problem in the month view. The first repeating event shows its dates subsequent ones do not.

Hmm... I don't have this problem in the month view. Do you have your argument set to your date field rather than the updated date?

I believe I do. I had it that way before when it was working correctly. I am not sure but this issue might ought to be in date instead of here but I wasn't sure since it seems that Calendar is getting all the new goodies right now. I know Karen spent a bunch of time fixing something very similar to this before.

I tried with the latest dev of both today and even tried my custom view of upcoming events which worked in rc4 and dev up until two days or so ago and it doesn't work yet either. Regular events work fine. Ones with repeats the second and subsequent date to not display.

No worries though the great OZ shall fix it again :)

I'm having the same problem with upcoming events, at least I think it's the same problem.

In my upcoming events block, instead of changing the event date to each subsequent date (ie every Tuesday), it only displays the date for the first event. For example, if the first event is Dec 2, 2008, the block show the event as occuring each Tuesday, Dec. 2, instead of Dec. 2, Dec. 9, Dec. 16, etc.

Is this the issue being worked? Or is there a fix?

It's still occuring in the latest nightly build for date/calendar December 1st, 2008

This needs fixes in both Date and Calendar. I'm committing a fix to the -dev versions of both of them right now and it will be in the next release.

I am having this problem as well. I've tried both the latest dev release as well as the latest stable build of both calendar and date. One difference is I am using the version for Drupal 5.x not 6.x

I partially solved the problem, but am still having issues. I discovered that if I delete my events and recreate them, the time and date are displayed in my upcoming events block. The problem is it's only showing the times for the first instance of the event. For example, when I recreated everything the upcoming events block was full of 5 events, all with time/dates. As the events past though and next weeks instance of the event shows up on the list, it isn't showing the time or date for it. The only way to get it to show up is to delete and recreate the event again. Obviously doing this each week for the 5 regularly repeating events would be a major pain in the butt. Anyone have any ideas?

smurray, I have the same problem... Let us know if you find out something!

I think the problem smurray in #11 described is different from the original problem described by this thread, so I created a new thread specifically addressing it. I have the same problem. Perhaps robclay in #12 has it also.

The new thread has the highly descriptive but ridiculously long title, "repeating event's date is always shown to be that of the event's first iteration."

If I understand correctly, this is working for me.

Attached is a screenshot of my upcoming events block with a repeating event (test repeat).

Here is how I made it:
