Hi everyone, im looking forward for a solution here, coz i don't know what else to do or think. The problem i'm facing with is the following:
1) I've created a menu item say "Itineraries" with the English language chosen, and I created also another menu item in German named "Segelrouten". So either i select the english language or german language to appear, these 2 menu items are displayed no matter what. I just want "Itineraries" to be displayed for English, and "Segelrouten" when German is selected. So, why is drupal displaying both menu items in either language?
Note that these 2 menu items have an image/tid/ path. Same thing happens using taxonomy/term/ path. Does it have to do with the path or something?Don't know what to think.
2) Also, I've created an image gallery. and i want some descriptions to be displayed in German too. I've entered the english text, english name and description, so using "translate interface" i place the German text. when i change the active language to German, the english text still appears, no german text displayed. What is causing this?
If anyone knows, plz inform me, coz im dealing with this for about a week or so.
Thx in advance!!!

I'm having EXACTLY the same
I'm having EXACTLY the same issues. It would seem that normal content (pages, story) can be translated and have language specific menu links that behave as you would expect (showing up only when their language is the current one) but that menu links to taxonomy terms just show up regardless, so the same link shows up for all languages (even when it is the wrong language). As I understand it translating these menu links is also not an option because they are not part of the Drupal Interface.
Same problem with a link to 'Home' I added to my primary links. I can translate the string but that doesn't seem to help. I still get the same menu item, untranslated, in all languages.
That seems to be just how it is...
Same with gallery descriptions: I think these are just not translatable. Period.
Can anyone throw some light on this. Am I (are we?) just being stupid or are these limitations we are finding real?
