I know this is a duplicate of http://drupal.org/node/200586 but I made a patch for D5.
If this get's approved, it can also be ported to D6 and D7

Please go ahead and post this patch to the issue, making sure it ends with '-d5.patch'. Do not change that issue's version number until it is resolved for 7 and 6.
