Date Import/Export from Events module is ignoring timezone?

When I am importing nodes from the Events module to the same node (with a new Date CCK field) everything works except the new CCK date field dates/times are 5 hours later than the old Events dates/times. This is the same as my Time Zone offset.

I am upgrading from Event module version 6.x-2.x-dev. Originally I didn't have the Events module installed at all, because I was going to switch over to Date Field as I upgraded to Drupal 6. I only installed the events module to compare the two fields.
