I am new to Drupal and I have gone through the module that would allow me to create a vendor review section for my site. I see there are other review modules for previous versions of Drupal i.e. Movie Review, Book Review, and Simple Review. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I should go about building the review module should I attempt to modify one of modules and try to update it for Drupal or is there a better way. I need the module to have the following

You don't need to develop a new module for this. You can use the http://drupal.org/project/cck module to make the review form, the http://drupal.org/project/fivestar for the star based reviews, and the http://drupal.org/project/views module to make various listings of reviews. The ability to add comments to your reviews is part of core drupal (optional core comment module).
