Integrating Smarty in Drupal 6

sisko - December 6, 2008 - 02:47

Hi,

I am new to drupal but I have sucessfully installed and activated the multiflex drupal theme.

I existing projects are all done in the smarty templating system. I need to integrate one of those projects
into drupal maintining my template files and the clean separation of HTML from PHP.

Can anyone please tell me how to accomplish smarty integration?

ps: I downloaded garland-smarty but on activation it definately seems to have lost styling( fewo24.css seems to be missing from the download).
A previous drupal-smarty theme also lost styling information.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks for your suggestion. I visited the page and downloaded 'bluemarine_smarty'.

As it's not a drupal 6 theme I put in 'bluemarine_smarty.info' so I was able to see and activate it in my themes view.

Problem is, as always with the other smarty themes I've tried using, the css breaks. The theme loads but looks nothing
like it does in the screenshot provided in the download.

Can anyone advice on this issue or perhaps direct me to bespoke drupal 6 smarty themes?

Did you install everything as per http://drupal.org/node/27566 (perhaps adjustments need to be made for later versions of Drupal).

I have never used Smarty to be frank, I am just going off the docs here, there may be some bespoke smarty themes for older versions of Drupal but most contrib themes (like 99%) are phptemplate.
