The description of this module needs some big changes if most people are to understand it. Besides the spelling and grammar errors:

1 - I suggest that on the top of the project page you write what this module does or some of the things it will allow you to do. Assume people don't know what XMPP is because I doubt many do.

For example, does it let users send private messages to each other?

2 - Use some explanations that aren't full of jargon.

"XMPPClient: provides a thin client XWChat for drupal so you can use that instead of a thick client like Adium or pidgin." may make sense to the writer, but what it says to me is: "#####: provides a ##### #### for Drupal so you can use that instead of a ##### like ##### or #####."

google might help.

why would you expect somebody to explain what something is so you can figure out if you want them to help you with it for free?

For that matter, why would anything do anything for anybody else for free? Drupal is full of modules developed by people for others for FREE, people testing things for FREE, people providing constructive feedback for FREE, people translating for FREE, etc.

Documentation is a required part of all modules because they are made for others to use! Not only that, but they are made for people that may or may not have any programming knowledge at all.

If you think that's not right maybe you can put a post in the main forums kindly asking everybody to stop doing anything that isn't directly paid for. See what response you get.

If you don't care enough to google what you don't know, you shouldn't expect anyone to help you without being paid. This is a place where people help others, not a place where people serve others.

That's exactly what I did do actually. I found that I probably don't need this module after I searched what it was. I'm helping the people that will want to know what this module does in the future by recommending somebody who understands it well writes documentation that is understandable to the casual user.

And "this... place" is an issues board that is here specifically for citing bugs, feature requests, support requests, etc. Would there be an option to select "documentation" if it wasn't supposed to be discussed?

The first link is about what one can do with XMPP Framework after one got it working and set up a shoubox and get a working chatbot, at least the chatbot seems to be something where I have to get the PHP manual out and start coding.

The second link is about a conference and an agenda, sorry, not very helpful.

I'll happily contribute something as soon as I've figured out how to get xmppframework up and running with the ejabber I have, hey, I managed to get jwchat and MUCL up and running :-), but it will take some time.

Context and spaces are in a very distant future for me, it looks as if I have to master views first. I use Drupal for my personal homepage, more or less as a frontend for Menalto 2.
