Yes ecommerce or ubercart are options for shopping cart website.

Here is an example using Drupal with shopping cart modules from Ubercart.

The problem is, many sites use the same themes. Many drupal themes are ported from Joomla and wordpress etc, so you can't indentify a site using the way it looks. There are other ways tell, none of them I THINK are 100%. Things can be changed with php/theme etc.
