Drupal 7 features a lot of new hooks, replacing old ones. Hook_taxonomy() and hook_block() have been split up in multiple 'smaller' hooks, for instance.

Development for Drupal 7 has stalled. The current situation is that Vocabulary Index might be succeeded by Index, which will probably be ready before D7 has come out.
