I'm feeling a bit blonde at the moment, cause I have no idea how to start using this module...

I go to admin -> ImageCache and "Adds a new preset" but then what...? nothing happends...

What did you want to happen?
"Add a new preset" should ask you for a name. Create a name (like 'sepiatone' or 'bordered thumbnail')
Then you will get a list of actions and filters that can be applied to your images.
Choose a few and string them together.

To see the RESULTS of your process however (until you get the version that shows you previews - in CVS this week) you need an extra step.

Is that where you are stuck?
And is this imagecache_actions or just imagecache?

If you are stuck there, then you are stuck with all imagecache processes - not just the extended imagecache_actions ones.

One of the possible 'what to do next' bits is also vaguely described towards the bottom of

I think there is an intuative gap there between setup and seeing the result - it's a background process that has no visible face without some other image modules or custom code. Which is frustrating I guess.
