I think there is a conflict with this module and user_stats module:

[Wed Jan 07 11:27:31 2009] [error] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare user_stats_preprocess_author_pane() (previously declared in /home/www/html/sites/all/modules/user_stats/user_stats.module:704) in /home/www/html/sites/all/modules/author_pane/modules/user_stats.author-pane.inc on line 24

Cleared cache, etc. I'm removing the user_stats module for time being.

Huh... You're right. For some reason I had in my notes that user stats had only committed it to D5. Just delete the .inc file from author pane for user stats. I'll remove it from cvs in a bit.
