Issue #356276: Expose locale data to views has a patch for exposing Views data to i18n.

We can use hook_views_data_alter() to register i18nstrings data, including both the i18nstrings table and the status field we add to locales_target.

Sounds like a good idea. If you have the patch you can commit it right away into i18nviews.
