When trying to install panels Plugin Manager fetches the wrong version (panels 6.x-3.0-alpha1)

this version doesn't seem to exist, the last version is panels 6.x-2.0-alpha3

this might as well be a problem from the Panels side and not from Plugin Manager

Though it doesn't show on the project page (for reasons that I don't understand,) there does seem to be a 6.x-3.0-alpha1. It can be found at http://drupal.org/node/352589.

and apparently this alpha is older than 2.0-alpha3
(because the errors on 3.0-alpha1 are fixed on 2.0-alpha3!)

propably a mistake from their side, I'll try to inform them :)

the panels 2.0 and 3.0 are two different versions of the module, the release data does not matter..

but I do not understand why the 3.0 is offered by Plugin Manager, when the recommended release for D6 is 6.x-2.0-alpha3
The module should follow the logic and offer the same releases as the core update.module does.

Pasqualle you are right, it is the first alpha of the next version of Panels

From what I understand, Panels 2.0 has been "retired" and Panels 3.0 is the only active version at this point.
