Heavy workflow
Hi,
At the company that I work for, currently we have a Lotus Notes/Domino application that we use to request all kind of access (from a network share to internet access). These requests have a workflow behind it. We have a request categorization (3 cascade combobox) and depending on it, the approvers will be selected.
This is an old application but we need to implement lots of new features. So we started to think about building a new one.
At the same time, the company is evaluating a CMS solution, and Drupal seems to be the winner.
I was thinking about creating the request form using CCK and then use the workflow to gather the approvals. Once approved, I could integrate it with a helpdesk tool (jobtrack?), so I could keep track of the requests.
I would like to know your thoughts about this idea. Do you recommend something (to abort it?) Any special module?
TIA,
Bob

I think drupal would be an excellent tool for this but then you're asking in the drupal forums, lol. For the cascading drop downs, you'll probably want to look at leveraging the excellent http://drupal.org/project/hierarchical_select module.
