Image Gallery Access has taken a huge leap and caught up with Forum Access! I'm very excited to announce BETA1 here. It has just about all the functionality needed for a first release, so please give it a good work-out to ensure that it also has the required quality.
IF it works for you, let us know by adding a note to THIS issue here.
We need a lot of positive feedback to build sufficient confidence, so please do keep it coming!
IF YOU FIND A BUG, please check the issues queue, and if it hasn't been reported yet, then OPEN A NEW ISSUE!
Do NOT add bug reports, support requests, etc. to this issue here.
Note the Image module issues listed on the Image Gallery Access front page.
You must update to the latest ACL BETA4 (or later) before installing Image Gallery Access BETA1!

It crashes my website for a long long long time....

for only 12 hours... hehe but now it is ok, now i have a new real issue, i havent set any access yet for any gallery, but when a non registered user tryes to access a gallery it tells me the following: Error 500 error in the server
but when a registered user access any gallery it works.
Can you help me? hehe
Im not sure to retry the installation, i dont want to saturate my server again.

That issue is fixed when i activate Clean URLs...but that should be optional, not a requisite...

@bchinchilla: Please read the original post above!
Also, I'm getting the impression that you're not very experienced with Drupal yet, and you should probably stick to released modules.
Please DO NOT REPLY HERE!!! Open your own issue if you wish to pursue this.

Everything is working fine.

It has been a long time since BETA1. IGA 6.x-1.x-dev has silently tracked the progress of Forum Access, which is now released, and BETA2 reflects the state of FA 6.x-1.0.
Thank you to those who have provided feedback. Unfortunately, there haven't been that many. Please help us to make sure that we reach release quality!

On 2009-08-08 two changes were committed to Image 6.x-1.x-dev that broke BETA2. We updated the -dev version on 2009-08-09 but we had to wait for a new tagged Image version. This happened today with Image 6.x-1.0-beta1. We've also fixed a very serious bug that interfered with properly storing access rights.
Again, the call for help with getting IGA released:

The response in this thread hasn't been overwhelming but we do have about 300 known sites using BETA3, and a few remaining bugs have been fixed.
The one new feature is #543576: Hide the 'Image galleries' menu item for roles that can't see any galleries. This needs to be tested on the 'classic' (= non-Views) galleries as well as on the 'Views' galleries. On the latter, IGA also takes care of creating the menu item in the first place.
This is your last chance for verifying that IGA works in your environment before we release 1.0 in about a week. So, again, the call for help with getting IGA released:
