translatable images how-to

hey there,

I don't know how n00b I am to ask this, but anyway...

I'm looking for a means to post images with translated descriptions - but not necessarily the same image twice.

the way I know how to do it (and I have fiddled around a bit for another one) is: I post an image, add a description in, say, French, then re-post the image to add a description in English.

but doing so will pretty much double, or even triple, my picture count. so: is there any other less clumsy way to do it? ;]
