Hide Child Menu Items in Menu Settings(Create Content)

d-shade - February 4, 2009 - 03:17

I am trying to set up my create content page with the all child items hidden in the menu settings.
(I already have Menu Settings per Content Type installed so that only 1 menu shows up in the menu settings)
my menu is set up like this

--Content1
--Content2
--2008
----Nov 2*
----Dec 22*
--2009
----Jan 31*

I am trying to hide all the child items(marked with *) when creating new content of a specific type.
Is there a way to do this?
I am still fairly new to drupal so I am not sure what to search for exactly.
I did find this module Menu Subtree Permissions but I can't get it to work the way I want it to.

This is a gallery menu and I am using Gallerix to generate my gallery.

The other thing I am looking to do although not as important is I want to be able set the menu settings as a required element when submitting content but only on specific content types is this possible??

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
Thanks!!
