I'm looking for an experienced developer to create a Drupal 6 Featured Content Slideshow module.

This is the original slideshow, s3Slider.
Basically, I want the same functionality as the demonstration shown in the link above.
I have the modified s3Slider with pagers and previous/next button. All you need to do is integrate into Drupal.

I have budget to pay for this and a short timeline, 1-2 weeks. I'm also planning on making this module available at Drupal.org for the community.

Contact me with your details, experience, portfolio or any work that you have done (that is Drupal related). Only selected candidates will be replied.

Hello Leow -

If possible, you may wish to consider having the developer you hire augment a pre-existing Drupal module that already does nearly what you need (or if they are available immediately, hire the module developer/maintainer). If you do hire a separate developer, they could work with the module's maintainer and supply the needed patch(es) to add any additional functionality you require. This would be much better for the Drupal community than adding another module that does "just about the same" as several other modules. For the sake of users overwhelmed with so many (too many) choices, there's a strong movement in the community to build upon existing modules whenever possible, instead of reinventing the wheel :)

A few off the top of my head that would be good candidates for you are:
http://drupal.org/project/views_rotator ... this is by Matt Farina, an excellent and active Drupal developer. Some references (including Dries) and his company's portfolio. From the page source, this appears to be an example of Views Rotator. It almost exactly matches your example besides the addition of animation/movement to bring in the sub-titles, and the fade out to white instead of a cross-fade (which I'm sure is simple).

http://drupal.org/project/views_slideshow ... this is by Aaron Winborn who is one of the top Drupal developers in regard to multimedia (he wrote the book Drupal Multimedia). This is a solid slideshow module as well. I have used it before myself (example, photos on home page), and adding sub-titles is as simple as including the field in the view.

There are several other slideshow modules as well, though these were the closest match I believe to your example. Either of the above two mentioned developers would be ideal for your project, and I'm confident one or the other will be happy to accept your sponsorship to upgrade one of the modules.

You'll notice that both modules are based on top of Views, which is a very good thing. Views gives you the precision ability to list the exact content you want in your slideshow. Augmented with Nodequeue it can also allow you to instantly set up your list of hand-picked "featured" content.

I wish you the best of luck, and thank you in advance for contributing to Drupal! :D Your designs are fantastic by the way ;)

You can have a look at the Dynamic display block module.
We have a demo site at http://ddblock.myalbums.biz

I second the suggestion to try Dynamic Display Block (http://drupal.org/node/293714). I've used it in several implementations and have found it to be quite dazzling and flexible too.

Well, we're still thinking about it while waiting for more applicants.

Our requirements are pretty simple.
We already have the full source of the slideshow (based on jquery).
We would like it to be integrated into the node's settings. The user may enable/disable it per content type.
Once enabled, whenever user creates/edit a node, a new fieldset group for the slideshow will be shown. From there, user can choose to make that node featured or not.

In addition to that, there should also be an admin page that lists all the nodes are that currently featured. This page also allows them to manage the nodes; to un-feature the node, sort, rearrange, etc.

This makes it easy for the end users to use. Pretty straightforward.
