I have used the module for a long time. I just recently upgraded to 6.9 and the new version of this module
Upon upgrading none of my previous vocab indexes were shown
I ran cron.php I cleaned the cache still nothing.
whever I make a new vocabulary it appears in the vocab index admin , however my other vocabs do not.
When I look in the database, the fields for all the vocabs are there but they still do not appear in the admin
please help as this module is the showcase feature of my site

xanoReinstalling the module should be a quick fix. It's not ideal, but it should work.
netentropy commentedyes it did.
for some reason my update did not recognize the new version, i manually changed it and it was fine.
xanoWhat exactly do you mean?
netentropy commentedwhen you upgrade a module, you are suppose to run update.php to change the database. The instructions tell you Drupal handles this for you but you "can" do it manually if you want.
Drupal did not recognize the version as an update from my old version. So I went in and use the drop down to manually change it.
xanoUpdate.php should _always_ be executed manually. In fact, you should not have been able to use Vocabulary Index 2 before running all updates. Haven't you seen any error messages telling you to run update.php before you would be able to use Vocabulary Index 2?
netentropy commentednope,
in fact Drupal says specifically not to do it manually
i think we are talking about two different things
I did upgrade manually by clicking the link
Drupal then reads this:
"the version of Drupal you are updating from has been automatically detected. You can select a different version, but you should not need to."
This did not register this was a new version. I had to go back and manually scroll down and pick the version from the dropdown
Comment #7
xanoThis is no automatical update. Drupal just detects them automatically when visiting update.php. You still have to execute them manually.
From and to which versions of Vocabulary Index (and Drupal) were you updating?
xanoComment #9
netentropy commentedi was executing it manually , it was NOT detecting the update
Comment #10
xanoCould you please answer the following question?
xanoKick.
xanoKick. Next time I'll close it due to lack of information.
xanoClosing this topic for the reason mentioned before. If you still experience this problem, please try the patch in #441288: suddenly lost vocab indexes. If that doesn't work you may reopen this one, under the condition that you provide the information requested in previous replies.
