First off, thanks for doing this, each iteration is becoming better. Everything seems to work in my install except for what appears as a line break in text or a space in a URL at character 1,211 when I past my HTML into Word and use it to count the characters and spaces. I also get a ! 61 characters after that. Where the ! comes from, I don't know.

This reminds me of #31524: random exclamation points appearing in emails from simplenews. Implementation will need to be changed but the concept of base64 encoding may apply.
