One of the most frustrating aspects of Drupal is that despite how powerful it really is, it still lacks a good streamlined approach and tool set for EASY set up of user-managed galleries.

The good thing is that recently a new module was released that addresses that issue but it still requires some work before it becomes really usable: http://drupal.org/project/cck_gallery

Drupal 6 only!

I'm total newby, but I was able to put together user galleries by following the instructions in this ebook: http://book.drupalfun.com/

She takes you through it step by step-- it's very helpful, and well worth the price. :)

I was thinking about buying the book but I wasn't not sure if the proposed user gallery solution supports the following features:
1) Multiple galleries per user
2) Users have full control of their own galleries:
- create galleries
- delete galleries - VERY IMPORTANT: when a gallery is deleted, all images in it are AUTOMATICALLY deleted as well or as an alternative user cannot delete a gallery, which has images in it. Either way referential integrity MUST be preserved and there are no orphaned images left
3) Galleries/images are nodes and therefore easily exposed as pages of thumbnails with Views

Can you please tell me is the solution in the book supports these requirements and is yes, I will buy it myself.

Thanks!

I am sorry, but the solution on that video has nothing to do with the original question or my requirements listed above. This one on the video shows how the ADMINISTRATOR can set up a gallery that users can only see.
The question was about how USERS can manage their own galleries. Think of Picasa for example.

Each user can create their

Each user can create their own galleries very easily in Drupal.

If you are still sticking to 5x try Acidfree http://drupal.org/project/acidfree
If you are thinking of 6x you can also try prog gallery http://drupal.org/project/prog_gallery

There are several other solutions as well.
