Hello
I'm planning of a new drupal site that will have 100 pages to start with [each having NO images except one 160*600 adsense image ads]. Except the ad images, there won't be any bandwidth/space grabbing image/sound/animation/anything.

I'll use Acquia Marina theme at the beginning.

Other features: With user account, members can access these:
1. html newsletter subscription
2. post on forum
3. content rating
4. may be a fan club.

There will be 5-10 pages added each week and 100+ posting on forum each week. I'm expecting 2000-3000 visitors /day each spending app 3-4 min on site.

Now, could you please suggest me these:
1. how much bandwidth do i need each month?
2. How much hosting space do i need to have for the first year?

Drupal is database driven and hosting space isn't really an issue.

I don't believe there is any way to gauge how much bandwidth you need. Too many variables involved. page caching? how many logged in users, how many anon users.

Drupal is very easy to move from host to host. As such, if you find yourself in a problematic situation after your site goes up and starts getting attention, you can move it.

If you want to look into that host, I'd recommend looking at Blamcast's article here:
http://blamcast.net/articles/drupal-hosting

The author of that site is the same author of www.drupalmodules.com, and from what I understand, he hosts all his sites with Midphase - please correct me if I'm wrong.

There are some others I've seen mentioned in the forums that also are reported to give a good experience, but my vote is with AnHosting/Midphase for now. That's where I have my sites hosted - though I won't say that the sites I run are heavy traffic by any means. ;0)

With their plans, you get tons of storage space, fast load times, etc; and they give you tons of control and tons of options (in my opinion) for a shared hosting package. And I think their support is second do none (at least compared to the 3 I've personally hosted with, and compared to reviews read of others).

For 2000-3000 visit per day, you should consider VPS hosting at least, you can go with midPhase, or hostgator. You can start with their share web hosting, and then once you have built the traffic you expect (2000-3000/day), you can upgrade to their VPS hosting, that would be quite simple for you as you work with the same hosting service provider.

I'm a noob but why do I see anhosting is midphase? is it the same company?

website loads faster on anhost then midphase though

Midphase bought AnHosting, but is still keeping the names separate. I now have 2 accounts with them, both via AnHosting, but all the "support" is answered (or at least most of it) from the support email address at midphase.

There are the different brand under the same company, ANHosting more focus on individual or personal web site, and midphase mainly target their customers at small business.

Both of them are part of UK2.net now (they are acquired by Uk2.Net in the early of 2008)

Its a wonderful webhost.i tried them after going through reviews in Feb 2008 and then bought an account for a year in march.It was 300 GB for ~$70 then.No issues so far and they helped me set a wildcard DNS for subdomains too at no extra cost.

Not being difficult, but it really looks like your question as been answered to the best of other people's abilities.

If you need a better answer, try asking a better question. Not being rude here, but that is the case. I've had to rephrase my questions on various subjects, in various forums, myself. Just because you understand a question, doesn't mean everyone else will. And if it were so simple, you wouldn't have needed to ask it in the first place. ;0)

The average bandwidth you will need can be estimated.
see http://www.findmyhosting.com/bandwidth.htm for details.
And storage space will be in MBs (~40MB) for fresh drupal and it will go up with your pages.

I think it is not something you need to think too much about as many good hosting services are now providing huge or even unlimited bandwidth and storage.so just search for the good host.
