Whenever installing/enabling this module my module page no longer loads (it just keeps loading forever). When I go to the homepage while it is loaded it tells me I need to set a taxonomy for the module, so I click on the link to do so but this page loads indefinitely as well. The only solution for the issue is to either remove the module from my modules directory or go to the mysql database and disable it in the system table.
I don't know what issues are causing this since I cannot seem to find an error reported anywhere. Here are all the modules I currently have installed, please let me know if I can provide any other info regarding the matter:

todd nienkerk commentedI'm almost positive this isn't an issue with Author Taxonomy. You have a LOT of modules on your site, which makes me think it's a server configuration issue. Here are some forums posts related to a "white screen of death" while enabling modules:
http://drupal.org/node/295962
http://drupal.org/node/380606
See also #90605: How much memory does a Drupal site need?.
Please close this issue if you learn it's a configuration problem unrelated to the module.

nicholas.alipaz commentedShouldn't matter how many modules I have...
Turns out that update module was acting up for some reason. I was able to go into watchdog table in mysql and see that the error was coming from that module each time I attempted to access the admin panel. For some reason, upon enabling your module, this is when the issue started to happen. I disabled update module from the database and all was well.
Now I wonder if perhaps this module has a conflict with update module or perhaps it is not configured to update from the right location?

todd nienkerk commentedModules don't need to be configured to be seen or used by the Update module (apart from the basic information required in the .info file). Update uses the project name (author_taxonomy) and version stamp from Drupal.org's packaging system to determine if a module is up-to-date.
The number of modules you have enabled does matter. The more modules you have enabled, the more likely you are to run into PHP memory issues. Please review the links I posted in my previous comment. Please also see:
http://drupal.org/node/31819
http://drupal.org/node/158043
It's entirely possible that enabling Author Taxonomy pushes your site over its configured PHP memory threshold. Disabling the module in this case would seem solve this problem, as your site's load is lowered below the memory threshold. Try enabling several other modules to see if you can repeat the problem.

todd nienkerk commentedAdditionally, Drupal 6.x runs updates for disabled modules that were once installed but haven't been uninstalled. This will contribute to memory exhaustion.

nicholas.alipaz commentedfixed, thanks
