it would be great if this module would piggyback off of patterns. This would make it much easier to do things outside of what mailman currently does. Patterns is also going to probably be integrated into core for D7.

Althoug it's a very interesting idea, I hardly can support this. I'd bet for Features module, but right now I won't play with this.

If the purpose of the integration is 'export' functionality, then a feature could provide more usable result.
