Hi, I have had the previous prob of BG not showing my thumbnail, only black boxes. I solved that by applying the patch to image.php as discussed.
All was working fine.
Now, I've installed some new modules, image cache, some CCK fields, views exporter, and now BG is broken again, just showing black boxes instead of thumbnails.
Arrg!
I've disabled the modules, and its still broken.... arrg...
It displays the images as broken links, its getting the filenames OK because the captions appear, and it even knows the size and orientation of the files, as they show up as empty black thumbnails, but in the correct orientation and layout.

After upgrading to the latest version, we're having a very similar issue. The thumbnails are broken and when clicked, a placeholder for the broken image is displayed in the modal window. The captions are still accurate though.

I'm having this issue as well. I've used brilliant gallery on other drupal sites, but on this new site I get a grid of question marks, and when clicked on, there is just a image missing placeholder.
is brilliant gallery still being developed?
is there another solution that is similar?

Hi,
I upgraded website to newer BG version 6.x-3.0 (and a lot of updates include drupal itself from 6.4 to 6.12) then got broken BG thumbs and when clicked got a crosed camera picture, files are fine as I have PHP script which load them (same files) correctly, only BG got a problem...
I loaded old BG 6.x-1.0 and refresh website (wihout update.php) and all OK!
That's mean BG needs fixing.
I should test this on my test website, but forgotten to change httaccess (redirect) and guess what, I've been upgrading real website thinking that is test website, so no backup.
Then drupal 6.12 and BG 6.x-1.2 give me "Module and theme update status - Unsupported release", but is working now.

A lot of issues have been fixed in the current version (6.x-3.4). Try and report back in great detail if still having problems.
