When I go to Admin>Site Building>Views>Style, Slideshow appears as an option and I select it, then click on Update, but the style reverts to whatever style had been selected before. In other words, it looks like I can select Slideshow but it won't hold as the style type.

rajaoa commentedThe problem is in views 2, but that hase been solved. The solution lies in the implementation of the view. Yo should define the view as a normal node and later on assign the style. please look at Aarons link below:

geoman commentedHi Aaron,
Thanks for getting back to me about this. I've been away from the problem for a while, but I'm back trying again. I’m using views 6.x-2.0-rc1, views slideshow 6.x-1.0-beta1, drupal 6.x-1, and attached is a txt doc with the export code.

redndahead commentedHello Geoman,
Have a look at the 6.x-2.x-dev version and use the latest views and see if this works for you now.
redndahead commentedDon't forget to enable the singleframe or thumbnailhover module when you upgrade to 2.x-dev of views slideshow
